LISBON BY THE WATER | CASCAIS

This area is also known as the Portuguese Riviera or “Costa do Sol” (sunny coast). It’s also the place where city dwellers go to breathe fresher air, enjoy the sea that allows for great surf sessions, and eat fresh fish and seafood. The Portuguese aristocracy and bourgeoisie kept summer chalets here since the country’s royal family also favoured the town. It also received large numbers of prominent foreigners fleeing persecution during the last century, including deposed royal families, and also spies. The area offers several historical and cultural points of interest.
