Príncipe Real is one of the trendiest areas in town. It has independent shops, fashionable restaurants with world food and it remains one of the most charming places. In cultural and historical terms, it has some interesting places but contemporary life, with a touch of decadent charm, is really the neighbourhood’s hallmark. A few years back, Príncipe Real was known for its antique shops but today it’s ever-changing. Some of the most interesting restaurants and shops in town are located here and, although the antiques remain, independent clothing and décor shops prevail.
Visit the Assembleia da República, the Portuguese Senate.
Visit the Atelier-Museum of painter Júlio Pomar (1926 - 2018).
Visit the antiques shops.
Visit the Natural History and Science Museum.
Have a meal at one of the many restaurants and bars in this area.
